Diary of a Female GP (A Week in the Life of a ‘Lazy’ GP), is the first non-fiction book by Joni Martins.
She wrote this book after the then UK prime minister, Theresa May, made some statements about how A&E departments were overstretched because GPs were not pulling their weight. She planned to ensure that surgeries would open at times when patients needed them and if they didn’t take the work away from A&E she would cut their income.
Obviously, GPs all over the country were in uproar. The measures she suggested were not possible to put in place. GPs already felt overstretched, overworked and at the end of their tether before any new measures would be forced on them.
So, Diary of a Female GP was born.
When the curtains slide away, does real-life general practice resemble patients’ view of it? Or will the truth revealed leave all astounded? ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
